Garden Heritage & Charm

Sea Green belongs to a group of ornamental hybrid junipers prized for their adaptable nature and attractive foliage. Its flowing shape softens garden edges and provides a beautiful evergreen backdrop for seasonal flowers—a natural fit for a welcoming cottage-inspired landscape.

How to Care for Your Sea Green Juniper

Sunlight: Plant in full sun for dense foliage and healthy growth. Choose a location with good air circulation.

Watering: Water deeply after planting and regularly while roots establish. Allow the upper soil to begin drying between waterings. Once established, water during extended dry periods. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.

Soil & Drainage: Well-drained soil is essential. Sea Green adapts to several soil types but should not be planted in low areas that remain soggy.

Pruning: Allow room for its naturally arching branches to spread. Little pruning is needed beyond removing damaged growth or lightly shortening wayward branches. Keep cuts within green growth; bare, older wood generally does not fill back in readily.

Fertilizing: If needed, apply a slow-release fertilizer labeled for evergreen shrubs in spring, following package directions. Avoid excessive feeding.

Mulching: Add a light layer of mulch around the root zone, keeping it several inches away from the plant’s base.

Spacing: Plan for its mature width rather than the size of the nursery plant. Generous spacing helps preserve its natural shape and encourages airflow.

Pet Safety & Handling

Sea Green Juniper should not be considered confirmed pet-safe. Junipers other than common juniper are listed as potentially harmful if eaten and may cause skin irritation. Information specific to Sea Green exposure in cats and dogs is limited.

Keep pets from chewing foliage, stems, or berry-like cones, and remove pruning clippings promptly. Contact your veterinarian if your pet ingests the plant or develops symptoms. Wear gloves when pruning if you have sensitive skin.

Beautiful Garden Companions

Pair with drift roses, salvia, or ornamental grasses in nearby sunny, well-drained plantings. White snapdragons add lovely cool-season color against its evergreen foliage. Give each plant enough room to mature.

Each plant is naturally unique. Height, spread, and fullness will vary. The 7-gallon designation refers to the nursery container size.
