Watering

Hydrangeas appreciate consistent moisture and should not be allowed to become extremely dry.

Immediately After Planting

Water deeply after planting so the entire root ball and surrounding soil are thoroughly saturated.

First Growing Season

Water deeply approximately 2–3 times per week, depending on rainfall, temperature and soil conditions.

During extreme summer heat, newly planted hydrangeas may require more frequent watering.

Once Established

Continue watering during extended dry periods.

Hydrangeas often wilt temporarily during the hottest part of the afternoon. Check the soil before watering again, because temporary afternoon wilting does not always mean the plant is dry.

Deep watering is much better than frequent shallow watering.

Pruning & Maintenance
